Is Retail For You?
Selling to the public on a successful level takes a certain personality. This is not to say that if you don't have that personality there must be something wrong with you. Everyone has their strengths, weaknesses, interests and disinterests. Selling to the public is hard work and takes a lot of attention to detail and diplomacy. If a time comes that you would like to scream at a customer and tell them to get out before you throw them out, is the true test. Always remain cool and professional and if you're steamed inside, be very cool on the outside. You will usually thank yourself later for your own restraint.
